Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Throughout working knowledge of National Electric Code/NFPA 70, IES or equivalent standard, electrical installation including materials, methods, specifications, and hazardous location identification for oil and gas or petrochemical industries.
2. Analyzes applicable codes, standards and project contract documents and monitors construction activities to ensure compliance.
3. Monitors and/or evaluates electrical tests and inspections such as ground-fault, ground resistance, insulation resistance, polarity, continuity, capacity, load and other electrical field tests as required.
4. Field checks installation and location of electrical equipment, electrical duct, conduit, cable, panels and other components of the electrical system being installed. Assures compliance with approved submittals. Monitors all electrical installations to assure circuitry, phasing, equipment and grounding adhere to construction documents and Company Electric Code requirements.
5. Provides general inspection on all construction and subcontractor work to assure a safe and workmanlike operation.
6. Verifies equipment settings, alignment, testing and energization requirements.
7. Evaluates adequacy of Contractor Quality Control (CQC) programs. Monitors contractor’s compliance with approved Quality Control Plan.
8. Makes recommendations for improvements to standard CQC provisions, and also defining quality assurance requirements.

Job Specification

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
2. Must have at least 5 years experience in related position.
3. Out of which 3 years should be in inspection line with Oil & Gas, Petroleum/Petrochemical projects.
