Qiddiya Investment Company is excited to announce an opportunity for a highly skilled Senior Design Manager - MEP (Aquatics Centre) to join our team. As we continue to develop a game-changing destination focused on entertainment and leisure, the MEP Design Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design aspects for our state-of-the-art Aquatics Centre.
In this position, you will lead a team of engineers and designers to ensure that all MEP systems are efficiently integrated and meet the highest standards of performance and sustainability. Your expertise will help shape a facility that serves as a pinnacle of aquatic sports and leisure activity.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of MEP systems for the Aquatics Centre, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and sustainability goals
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other design professionals to create a cohesive and functional design
- Review and approve all MEP designs, drawings, and specifications provided by consultants
- Ensure compliance with local and international codes, standards, and regulations pertaining to MEP design
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of MEP components and systems
- Oversee the installation process to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards
- Conduct regular site visits and meetings to monitor project progress and resolve any technical issues that arise
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in MEP design, particularly in relation to aquatics facilities, and implement best practices where appropriate
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 9-12 years of experience in MEP design management, specifically in large-scale aquatic or recreational facilities
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, codes, and standards pertinent to swimming pools and aquatic centres
- Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex projects
- Proficient in MEP design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM)
- Excellent leadership and communication skills; ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail
- Capability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices and energy-efficient MEP solutions is advantageous
- Professional Engineering license (or equivalent) is a plus
