Job Title: Professional Detailing & Scientific Relations Manager
Job Location: Jeddah
The Professional Detailing & Scientific Relations Manager role is multi-faceted, 70% focused on coaching, training and overall leadership to the Territory Managers (TMs), and 30% on educating the scientific dental professional community which in turn will influence dental professional usage and recommendation of our products. Your activities will be focused on 5 key pillars: Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Dental Associations, Dental Schools, Scientific Exchange, and Scientific Training. The Professional Detailing & Scientific Relations Manager collaborates with the Brand team in executing strategies and plans designed to deliver professional recommendations, sales from dental care professionals, and develop thought leadership via dental academia.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in dentistry, dental hygiene, or pharmacy and a minimum of 5+ years of experience in strategic influencing, presenting to large groups, organization, and territory management. Advanced Masters & PhD degrees would be beneficial. The candidate must be able to travel 50% of their time across Saudi Arabia.
YOUR TEAM
You will report directly to the regional Professional Oral Health Sales Director and work closely with the brand team to enhance in-field execution.
HOW SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- People Management Responsibility: Successfully lead a team of 8-12 full-time TMs.
- Capability building: Continuous team coaching to build best-in-class HCP sales capability.
- KOL Relationships: Build & manage dental KOL relationships across Saudi Arabia.
- Dental College: Cover 90% of dental colleges in Saudi Arabia.
- Internal P&G Operations: Interface with multi-functional teams and internal MS&P.
- Continuous Learning: Demonstrate agility in learning and acquiring new skills to adapt to evolving regulatory landscapes.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
- Conduct Field Visits: Spend 4 days per week in the field coaching TM by identifying areas for development and building on strengths as it relates to the Strategic influencing Process. Complete Field Coaching Guides following each field visit to deliver improved selling skills across the team. Demonstrate detailing visits with customers to upskill the team or deliver role play to facilitate capability of the TM.
- Facilitate Team Communication: Lead team conference calls and face-to-face meetings at regular intervals to manage/facilitate team business and develop capability of TMs.
- Develop TM Leadership skills: Identify team leads for specific project work and lead the team in delivering vs targets.
- Manage Team’s Talent Management/Succession Planning: Ensure team adherence to company policies and guidelines including but not limited to POH Business Rules, Expense Reporting, Business Travel, Co-employment, Workers Comp, Disability, WWBCM, Stewardship.
- Execute Region Strategy: Coach/guide individual territory Managers on execution of Region and Quarterly Dental Business Plan; track lists for top customers affecting RECO on priority brands; analyze usage and recommendation trends within the region/organization.
- Prepare and Co-Lead Monthly Business Reviews with Professional Team.
- Manage Team Expense: Coach direct reports on managing territory/coverage within budget with a focus on ROI and discuss during Business Reviews. Review and approve expense reports on a timely basis in accordance with company guidelines.
- Key Opinion Leaders: Developing, maintaining, and growing relationships & partnerships.
- Dental University: Managing scientific presentations and other educational events at dental universities.

- Leadership: Shows potential of a leader with focus on external focus, making clear choices, taking smart risks, and being decisive.
- Collaboration & Networking: Externally focused, understanding of the dental community in KSA + UAE. Strong credentials, integrity, maturity, strong multi-functional team player especially across Commercial and R&D teams.
- Effective Communication: Able to listen, learn, and understand while communicating effectively internally and externally to energize others to deliver on expectations.
- Growth Mindset is a must: The role of a Professional detailing and scientific relations manager is like an entrepreneur, which means there is not a standard way of getting things done. Candidate must feel confident to reach out to multiple stakeholders and form his/her own lead idea and pursue a learning plan against aligned success criteria.
- Confidence and Professionalism: The candidate is the “face of the company” externally and will engage with top-level HCP executives from outside P&G.
PREREQUISITES
- Life Sciences Experience: Experience in detailing to Healthcare Professionals in Saudi Arabia.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement systemic fixes.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Influencing Skills: Strong leadership and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
- Collaboration Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and regions.
