Position Title: Technical Training Specialist
Department: Training
Reports to: Training Director
Job Purpose
To provide comprehensive training operational oversight, continuous improvement, and developmental support for all training programs. This role ensures seamless execution of training while driving innovation through new capability insertions, training aids, and accreditation excellence. Acts as the operational link between training providers, academy leadership, Trainee Affairs, and shared services departments.
Job Accountabilities
Daily Training Operations Oversight
- Monitor and support ongoing training sessions through physical walkthroughs of labs and workshops, digital tracking via the Training Management System (TMS), and live observation of virtual platforms.
- Maintain comprehensive operational logs, tracking instructor deployment, equipment utilization, trainee attendance, and participation trends.
- Implement daily readiness checks to ensure training aids functionality, safety systems, and classified material controls are up to standard.
- Develop and manage remedial support programs to enhance training effectiveness.
New Capability Insertion & Training Innovation
- Lead the development and implementation of emerging training technologies, including AR/VR-based maintenance trainers, AI-driven simulation platforms, and predictive maintenance systems.
- Coordinate pilot programs for new training aids and labs, including vendor demonstrations, usability testing, and phased implementation plans.
- Oversee upgrades to legacy training systems, ensuring integration of modern interfaces and diagnostic tools.
Accreditation & Standards Compliance
- Maintain readiness for accreditation reviews by ensuring all training materials and processes are well-documented and compliant with national and international standards.
- Conduct regular alignment reviews with national qualification frameworks, defense industry standards, and international best practices.
- Manage corrective action plans for accreditation findings, stakeholder recommendations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Projects & Strategic Initiatives
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop new training programs, expand training facilities, and implement digital transformation projects.
- Develop business cases for training technology investments, curriculum modernization, and strategic partnerships.
- Drive change management initiatives across processes, organizational restructuring, and cultural transformation.
Quality Assurance & Accreditation Compliance
- Review curriculum content to ensure compliance with institutional policies and industry benchmarks.
- Collaborate with accreditation teams to align learning objectives, instructional strategies, and assessment methods with relevant accreditation frameworks.
- Continuously evaluate training effectiveness through participant and stakeholder feedback, refining approaches as needed.
- Monitor industry trends and customer needs, updating content to ensure relevance and innovation.
Project Management
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and internal teams to design curricula that align with educational and organizational goals.
- Define project timelines, establish milestones, and monitor progress to ensure successful program execution.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aviation Technology, Military Science, Educational Technology, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 3+ years in technical training operations, technical education/training management, project/program coordination, and experience working with accreditation bodies and aligning curricula with national and international standards.
