Job description

Automotive Drivability Technician (Auto Drivability Tech) Responsibilities & Duties

  • Diagnose and repair engine performance issues.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and software.
  • Perform fuel system repairs and maintenance.
  • Interpret diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and implement repairs.
  • Conduct emission system diagnostics and repairs.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks such as tune-ups and oil changes.
  • Inspect and replace faulty vehicle components.
  • Update vehicle service records accurately.

Collaborate with other technicians and service advisors.

Skills

Automotive Drivability Technician (Auto Drivability Tech) Qualifications & Skills

  • Certification in Engine Performance or related fields.
  • Experience with advanced diagnostic tools and software.
  • Previous experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
  • Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal automotive training or certification.
  • Proficiency in automotive diagnostic equipment and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of engine mechanics and powertrain.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • At least 5 years’ experience with GM vehicles.
  • Very good English language writing and reading skills.
