Job summary

A leading company in the food sector is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance functions across the plant. The role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, optimal uptime, and compliance with safety and quality standards. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and extensive experience in industrial maintenance, particularly in the food/FMCG sector.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
  • At least 3 years in a managerial role, preferably in food/FMCG sector.
  • Experience with CMMS and Lean tools.

Job description

Position Purpose

Responsible for overseeing all maintenance functions across the plant, ensuring equipment reliability, optimal uptime, and compliance with safety and food quality standards. This role leads the maintenance team and supports continuous improvement, cost efficiency, and long-term asset sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Reliability & Uptime

  • Ensure uninterrupted operation of all production and utility equipment.
  • Reduce unplanned downtime and improve equipment performance through structured maintenance plans.
  • Monitor and drive KPIs such as OEE, MTTR, and MTBF

Maintenance Strategy & Planning

  • Lead the development of long-term maintenance plans and asset lifecycle strategies.
  • Optimize preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Manage shutdown planning and execution with minimal production impact.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build and maintain a high-performing maintenance team.
  • Conduct regular training, performance reviews, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Track energy and utility consumption and support energy-saving initiatives.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with food safety (HACCP, BRC), ISO standards, and local regulations.
  • Promote safe working conditions, enforce use of PPE, and lead incident investigations.
  • Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Academic and professional qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in mechanical /electrical engineering.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role (preferably in the food/FMCG sector)
  • Experience with CMMS, Lean tools, and condition-based monitoring systems.
