A leading company is seeking a Project Manager to oversee major projects in a dynamic environment. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, managing project teams, and driving continuous improvement. Candidates should have a Bachelor's/Master's in Engineering and over 15 years of relevant experience.
Position Purpose
Responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of major projects, ensuring
alignment with business objectives, regulatory compliance, and efficiency in delivery.
Position Complexity
Managing large-scale projects in a dynamic and evolving environment, requiring strategic decision-making, coordination across multiple stakeholders, and adherence to stringent regulatory and safety standards.
Key Accountability Areas
• Ensures that the EPC Contractors comply with all site HSSE rules and regulations.
• Participates in EPC Contractors commissioning tests to ensure overall compliance,
including best practices.
• Ensures early detection of any deviation to the contractor’s site commissioning processes
& procedures, as well as of any noncompliance with the project PWPA or EPC contract.
• Participates and witnesses plant mechanical completion walk-downs, pre-commissioning,
plant start-up and commissioning.
• Reviews documentation submitted by the EPC Contractors to ensure that the
documentation correctly reflects the commissioning, testing and operational requirements.
• Reviews and approves punch list items as necessary.
• Provides close supervision of MOC, related to adjustments in hardware and software
settings, and modifications in the DCS during start-up until COD.
• Participates in final COD acceptance to coordination with the Project Coordination
Manager, EPC and Technical Consultant.
• Assists with handover and plant acceptance, including the verification of project
documents.
• Coordinates with third parties, including Grid Control for power and water interfaces.
• Participates in weekly meetings with the EPC Contractors and other parties as requested.
• Lead and manage project teams.
• Oversee project planning, budgeting, and execution.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
• Manage risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in project execution.
Person Profile
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in project management, preferably in utilities.
Skills and Demonstrated competencies
• High levels of English fluency
• Proven experience and extensive knowledge in Installation, Erection, Testing &
Troubleshooting of various types of Equipment.
• Previous Commissioning knowledge of large projects.
• Experience of working effectively in a dynamic, cross cultural environment and working
with second language team members
• Evidence of being able to work to the highest professional standards
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, teambuilding skills
• Ability to build positive working relationships and meet expectations
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver successful and timely outcomes.
• Ability to identify potential issues/problems and ensure solutions are put in place before
they occur.
