A leading company in the pharmaceutical industry is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to ensure the smooth operation of manufacturing and packaging equipment. Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) is responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of
pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and compliance
with industry regulations. The role requires expertise in mechanical systems and components, with a
focus on blister cartooning, powder filling machines, granulation lines, coating, encapsulation, tableting,
labeling, and cartooning equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical systems in production equipment.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical failures to ensure smooth operations and minimal
downtime.
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs), and safety regulations.
Maintain and service mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, gears, pneumatic
cylinders, solenoids, and FRL units.
Collaborate with the production team to optimize the performance of granulation, vacuum loaders,
tableting, capsulation, blistering, and cartooning machines.
Handle minor electrical issues, such as overloads, connections, and troubleshooting.
Physically handle components and equipment weighing up to 15 kg as required for maintenance
activities.
Machine transfer and installation
Document maintenance activities and update reports using relevant software tools (e.g., SAP or
CMMS systems).
Assist in installation, commissioning, and modification of equipment.
Adhere to safety guidelines and report any hazardous conditions.
This is not a desk office job; the role involves hands-on troubleshooting and on-site maintenance
tasks.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement
initiatives.
Availability to work weekends and night shifts as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 3 years experience as a mechanical technician in a pharmaceutical manufacturing
environment.
Hands-on experience with granulation, tableting, blistering, cartoning, and encapsulation
machines.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, bearings, shafts, gears, and pneumatic components.
Ability to handle minor electrical issues (overload, connection, etc.)
Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations (GMP, SOPs, safety procedures).
Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Basic computer skills for report writing and using maintenance software (SAP experience is an
advantage).
Ability to lift and handle loads up to 15 kg.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred.
English language proficiency is an advantage
