Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Islamic Teacher for the Primary Years at our international school in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Islamic studies, Qur'an recitation (Tajweed), and Islamic values, combined with strong pedagogical skills to engage young learners in a diverse and multicultural school environment.

  1. Present yourself as a professional and committed staff member, adhering to the EH teaching staff rules and regulations.
  2. Establish an effective and responsive classroom environment where children are active participants.
  3. Support the positive development of children’s social competencies.
  4. Assist in morning and school duties.
  5. Build and maintain positive relationships with families.
  6. Provide formal accountability to parents through written reports and consultations.
  7. Maintain informal communication with parents via verbal updates, emails, or communication books.
  8. Maintain classroom materials, resources, and equipment.
  9. Professionally document and display children’s work.
  10. Establish and sustain positive classroom relationships where all members are respected and valued.
  11. Support the planning and execution of school events such as Sports Day, performances, graduations, and cultural activities.
  12. Participate actively as a team member.
  13. Attend staff meetings and engage in ongoing professional development.
  14. Deliver high-quality Islamic Studies lessons aligned with the school curriculum and Saudi Ministry of Education standards.
  15. Teach Qur'an recitation and memorization with proper Tajweed rules.
  16. Integrate Islamic values and character education into daily activities.
  17. Develop engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans catering to different learning styles.
  18. Foster a love for Islam and encourage moral and ethical development.
  19. Create an inclusive, respectful learning environment supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
  20. Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing feedback and support for individual needs.
Desired Candidate Profile
  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Islamic Studies, Sharia, Education, or related fields.
  2. Teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent) is preferred.
  3. At least 2-3 years of experience teaching Islamic Studies at the primary level, preferably in an international school.
  4. Strong knowledge of Qur'an, Hadith, Fiqh, and Islamic history, with the ability to explain concepts engagingly.
  5. Proficiency in Tajweed and Qur'anic memorization teaching skills.
  6. Fluent in Arabic and English; bilingual ability is preferred.
  7. Familiarity with international curricula is an advantage.
  8. Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  9. Creative teaching methods to inspire young learners.
