Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Islamic Teacher for the Primary Years at our international school in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Islamic studies, Qur'an recitation (Tajweed), and Islamic values, combined with strong pedagogical skills to engage young learners in a diverse and multicultural school environment.
- Present yourself as a professional and committed staff member, adhering to the EH teaching staff rules and regulations.
- Establish an effective and responsive classroom environment where children are active participants.
- Support the positive development of children’s social competencies.
- Assist in morning and school duties.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families.
- Provide formal accountability to parents through written reports and consultations.
- Maintain informal communication with parents via verbal updates, emails, or communication books.
- Maintain classroom materials, resources, and equipment.
- Professionally document and display children’s work.
- Establish and sustain positive classroom relationships where all members are respected and valued.
- Support the planning and execution of school events such as Sports Day, performances, graduations, and cultural activities.
- Participate actively as a team member.
- Attend staff meetings and engage in ongoing professional development.
- Deliver high-quality Islamic Studies lessons aligned with the school curriculum and Saudi Ministry of Education standards.
- Teach Qur'an recitation and memorization with proper Tajweed rules.
- Integrate Islamic values and character education into daily activities.
- Develop engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans catering to different learning styles.
- Foster a love for Islam and encourage moral and ethical development.
- Create an inclusive, respectful learning environment supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing feedback and support for individual needs.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Islamic Studies, Sharia, Education, or related fields.
- Teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent) is preferred.
- At least 2-3 years of experience teaching Islamic Studies at the primary level, preferably in an international school.
- Strong knowledge of Qur'an, Hadith, Fiqh, and Islamic history, with the ability to explain concepts engagingly.
- Proficiency in Tajweed and Qur'anic memorization teaching skills.
- Fluent in Arabic and English; bilingual ability is preferred.
- Familiarity with international curricula is an advantage.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Creative teaching methods to inspire young learners.
