Project Mechanical Engineer:
PURPOSE OF WORK:
To provide engineering services on mechanical to progress, develop, and implement additions and modifications to refinery facilities.
To provide technical guidance and assistance on mechanical engineering topics to various refinery departments.
REGULAR ASSIGNED DUTIES:
- Define project requirements, develop proposals, estimate costs, obtain approvals, engineer design, procure materials, supervise construction, and assist in commissioning. Activities should be planned and coordinated with other refinery groups, vendors, and contractors.
- Suggest and define projects, assist in budget preparation, write applications for funding, and prepare other information necessary for management consideration of projects.
- Organize and monitor the work of support staff, refinery personnel, contractors, and vendors during all project phases including engineering, drafting, construction, inspection, testing, and commissioning. Write, evaluate, and administer purchase requisitions and installation contracts.
- Keep up to date with current techniques, applications, and equipment.
Inspection Engineer:
PURPOSE OF WORK:
To ensure the proper application of Inspection Engineering to assigned units under the direction of the Area Engineer. Responsible for executing on-stream condition monitoring programs, shutdown inspections, recommending repairs, and maintaining equipment lifecycle records to ensure uninterrupted and safe operation of the units.
REGULAR ASSIGNED DUTIES:
- Perform a full range of inspection engineering functions specific to assigned units or inspection branches, including on-stream and shutdown inspections, corrosion control, project quality control, weld quality administration, material control, and inspection reports with repair/replacement recommendations.
- Ensure all equipment and piping records are updated and entered into databases, review data periodically, and recommend repairs or replacements. Ensure timely execution of all required inspections such as NDT.
- Participate in formal training programs on corrosion monitoring, protective coatings, and corrosion & fouling control. Attend specialized training on refinery operations, NDT certifications, and management skills. Enhance PC application skills through formal training.
- Visit process units and control rooms daily, report highlights, and coordinate inspection activities with operations and maintenance departments.
- Review TSR packages, transmittals, and procedures for inspection approval. Interface with external consultants and represent the supervisor in technical meetings.
- Apply industry standards and conduct design calculations and life assessments for in-service equipment, evaluating methods and materials for extended operation.
- Deliver technical and safety presentations and represent SAMREF in external forums as directed.
- Adhere to ISO 9002 quality system requirements, maintaining high quality in inspection activities.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
EXPERIENCE:
Fresh graduate or less than 2 years of related experience.
