Job Summary:

The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for receiving all items ordered by the hotel, ensuring that all goods have been properly ordered, and that they meet the prescribed quantity specifications set by the user departments.

Responsibilities of a Receiving Clerk include:

  • Following the receiving procedures and coordinating with porters for the delivery of direct issue items to the kitchen and other departments.
  • Inspecting and verifying all goods received to ensure they conform to purchase specifications.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all transactions.
  • Properly filing all receiving documents.
  • Having knowledge of all goods to judge the quality of received merchandise.
  • Reporting any deviations from standard receiving procedures to the receiving supervisor.
  • Entering transaction data into the computer system.
  • Checking and verifying all goods received, ensuring they conform to purchase specifications.
  • Properly documenting all goods received or rejected.
  • Keeping the receiving area clean and organized.
  • Being environmentally conscious by reducing waste, recycling when possible, and reusing whenever applicable.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel or large organization.
  • Ability to work long hours and shifts.
  • Fluent in English, with proficiency in Arabic preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
