Job Purpose



The Senior Planning Manager plays a crucial role in the successful execution of a portfolio of Programmes, Districts, Mega Projects, and Projects. They oversee key aspects of Planning & Scheduling, ensuring effective data management, baselining, quality assurance, progress outputs, forecasts, trends, and monitoring to achieve project goals within scope, budget, time, quality, and risk constraints.


The role requires a comprehensive understanding of Project Management principles, leadership skills, and knowledge of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) processes. The ability to collaborate with stakeholders at various levels, including Executive, Client, Programme, Project, and Supply Chain, is essential.


Reporting to the Project Controls Manager - Planning, the Senior Planning Manager is responsible for all Planning & Scheduling aspects of the Programme, including integration, collaboration, and liaison with internal teams, client teams, design, PMO, PMC, and supply chain to ensure success.


Project Description


The Diriyah Gate II (DII) project, located on the Western outskirts of Riyadh, is a major infrastructure and mixed-use development spanning 7.1 million square meters. It aims to be a global landmark and an authentic destination in Riyadh. KBR provides Project Management Consultancy Services in Project Controls, Planning, Design, Engineering Management, and development and early works packages.


Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage a specific area of the DII KBR PMC1 Planning and Scheduling Team.
  • Contribute to defining and maintaining Planning and Scheduling data, metrics, and frameworks, establishing standards, policies, procedures, and systems for efficient project management.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the Planning and Scheduling team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Ensure the quality, timeliness, and consistency of scheduling work, including all planning and scheduling assistants.
  • Offer strategic insights on breakdown structures, interdependencies, baselines, trends, forecasts, and performance, advising senior leaders on project delivery.
  • Develop and implement planning and scheduling strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in planning and scheduling tools and techniques, including Primavera P6, MSP, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, PowerApp, and PMIS systems.
  • Support and influence senior leaders to make optimal decisions, ensuring reporting aligns with leadership requirements.
  • Coordinate protocols and activities across disciplines to ensure data accuracy and quality.
  • Provide strategic analysis of schedule data, highlighting trends and risks to support decision-making.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and quality reporting for all project controls activities.
  • Establish governance and quality control measures to adhere to standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Information Management & Technology Leads to develop digital strategies and implement tools and workflows.
  • Manage resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support project execution.
  • Promote lessons learned, procedural compliance, and best practices within the community.
  • Support and promote Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives.

Technical Skills


  • Expertise in developing, implementing, and managing Planning and Scheduling systems, transforming large data sets into dashboards and reports.
  • Ability to manage and control best-in-class planning solutions, processes, and delivery.
  • Deep understanding of programme management principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project control tools and software, including Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Data Analysis tools, Risk Management, Cost Management, and EDMS.
