The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting fleet operations data to optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to transform data into actionable insights that support decision-making across the fleet department.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collect, organize, and maintain fleet-related data, including vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, maintenance schedules, downtime, and repair costs.
- Analyze fleet performance metrics and create regular reports and dashboards for management.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as fleet utilization, maintenance compliance, accident rates, and operational costs.
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies to optimize fleet operations and reduce expenses.
- Support predictive maintenance planning by analyzing maintenance trends and vehicle health reports.
- Identify anomalies or inefficiencies in operations and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Fleet Managers, Operations, Finance, and Procurement teams to align data insights with operational goals.
- Maintain databases and ensure data accuracy, completeness, and security.
- Assist in preparing presentations and executive summaries for leadership meetings.
- Continuously seek opportunities to automate data collection and reporting processes.
Requirements :
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Business Administration, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Skills :
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Knowledge of fleet management software (e.g., Samsara, Fleet Complete, Geotab) is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret large volumes of operational data and present insights clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of key fleet KPIs (Fleet Utilization, Fuel Efficiency, Maintenance Costs, Downtime Rates, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications :
- Certification in Data Analysis (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) is a plus.
- Experience with telematics data, GPS tracking systems, and maintenance tracking tools.
