First Team Physiotherapist

Overview:

As a Physiotherapist for the First Team at Al-Qadsiah Club, you will play a critical role in player health, injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive physiotherapy support, ensuring player availability and high-level performance across all training and match contexts.

Key Responsibilities:

Injury Prevention and Player Care

  • Conduct musculoskeletal screenings to identify injury risk factors
  • Develop and implement prevention programs with performance staff
  • Deliver individualized treatment to improve mobility, strength, and flexibility

Injury Assessment and Treatment

  • Apply treatment plans created by the medical team
  • Diagnose injuries and guide individual recovery plans
  • Use evidence-based methods and monitor recovery progress

Rehabilitation and Return-to-Play

  • Oversee rehabilitation progress and re-integration
  • Integrate rehab into team training in coordination with coaching staff
  • Ensure full recovery prior to return to play

Match Day and Training Support

  • Provide on-field physiotherapy during training and matches
  • Manage acute injuries and support warm-up/recovery routines
  • Assist with post-match recovery procedures

Collaboration and Reporting

  • Coordinate medical staff schedules for operational efficiency
  • Maintain accurate medical records and communicate injury updates
  • Work cross-departmentally to support holistic player care
  • Educate players on injury prevention and recovery strategies
  • Participate in medical meetings and team workshops

Other

  • Stay current with CPD and professional development
  • Undertake additional duties as required by the line manager or Technical Director

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent experience

Desirable:

  • Certifications in dry needling, strength & conditioning, osteopathy, biomechanics, taping, or manual therapy
  • Certification in rehabilitation and return-to-play protocols

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

- Proven experience as a physiotherapist in professional sport, ideally football

- Deep knowledge of physiotherapy techniques and medical services

- Skilled in manual therapy, dry needling, and osteopathy practices

- Experience designing and managing rehabilitation and return-to-play programs

- Familiarity with the physical demands and injury risks in elite football

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Fluent in English; Arabic and Spanish are advantageous

- Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is desirable
