The Wellness Counselor at Miraval The Red Sea provides professional mental and emotional wellness support to guests seeking balance, clarity, and personal growth. This role combines evidence-based therapeutic techniques with mindfulness and holistic coaching to guide guests through individualized sessions and group experiences that promote emotional resilience, self-awareness, and mental well-being.
Aligned with Miraval’s philosophy of intentional living and integrative wellness, the Wellness Counselor plays a vital role in delivering transformative guest experiences while maintaining the highest standards of professional ethics, cultural sensitivity, and guest care.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Counseling & Emotional Support:
- Facilitate individual and group wellness sessions, focusing on emotional balance, stress management, and mindful awareness.
- Utilize evidence-based methodologies such as cognitive-behavioral approaches, mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), and solution-focused techniques.
- Provide personalized guidance to support guest well-being goals, offering practical tools for resilience, self-reflection, and emotional regulation.
- Maintain a confidential, supportive, and culturally respectful environment for all interactions.
- Support guests in navigating emotional challenges and fostering a deeper connection to their personal wellness journey.
Program Design & Facilitation:
- Develop and lead wellness workshops on topics such as mindfulness, emotional intelligence, stress reduction, and self-awareness.
- Collaborate with the integrative wellness team to create personalized guest programs and multidimensional well-being journeys.
- Ensure all wellness counseling and programming aligns with Miraval’s standards for professionalism, intention, and transformation.
- Integrate wellness counseling offerings seamlessly into the resort’s broader experiences, from private sessions to full-day retreats.
Operational Standards & Ethical Compliance:
- Uphold professional and ethical standards in all aspects of counseling and guest interaction.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with industry regulations and Saudi Arabia’s wellness and hospitality standards.
- Ensure all therapeutic offerings are safe, inclusive, and aligned with regulatory and cultural expectations.
- Support the Serenity Center team by contributing to best practices in guest care and program delivery.
Team Collaboration & Contribution:
- Collaborate across disciplines with Spa, Fitness, Creative Expression, and Mindfulness practitioners to enhance guest wellness journeys.
- Support team members by offering guidance on mindfulness tools, emotional well-being techniques, or psychological safety considerations.
- Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work environment that reflects Miraval’s values of empathy, integrity, and personal growth.
Professional Development & Innovation:
- Stay current with the latest research and developments in mental wellness, integrative therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches.
- Participate in Miraval training sessions, team meetings, and ongoing professional education initiatives.
- Share new methodologies, program ideas, and guest insights to evolve the wellness offering and inspire innovation.
- Seek and provide peer feedback to continually refine guest engagement and facilitation techniques.
Guest Experience & Program Promotion:
- Ensure that each guest experience is personalized, respectful, and reflective of their wellness goals.
- Recommend complementary services (e.g., spa treatments, mindfulness classes, or creative sessions) that enhance the overall guest journey.
- Contribute to guest satisfaction by providing warm, professional guidance that supports meaningful transformation.
- Support revenue goals by appropriately promoting private sessions and wellness program enhancements in a guest-centric and ethical manner.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Integrative Health, or related field, or formal certifications in holistic therapy or wellness coaching.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in wellness counseling, mindfulness-based coaching, or mental well-being facilitation.
- Certification in mindfulness-based practices (e.g., MBSR, MBCT), stress management, or wellness coaching preferred.
- Previous experience in a luxury wellness resort, retreat center, or integrative health environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of cultural sensitivity and wellness delivery within the Saudi Arabian hospitality context.
- Proficiency in English; Arabic is a plus.
