Job Description:
- Analyze engineering designs for welding details and recommend economical industry practices to increase productivity, reduce errors, and minimize cycle time.
- Monitor daily welding activities, maintain control over welding processes, and ensure parameters are met station to station, implementing corrective and preventive actions for deviations.
- Prepare daily welding reports covering productivity and efficiency, comparing planned vs. actual performance.
- Coordinate multiple projects, oversee external test laboratories, and manage contract welding facilities for PQR and WPQ.
- Maintain all welder-related documents, including certificates, cards, continuity records, performance results, and WRA.
- Review vendor documents such as ITP, welding procedures, and other related documents; return to MP or forward to PM within one week of submission.
- Participate in procurement of welding consumables within the estimated budget.
- Provide technical support during bidding processes for business development and other departments.
- Offer technical justification for client comments on welding procedures and documents.
- Plan, conduct, and report welding engineering investigations.
- Train welders, inspectors, leadmen, and foremen on special processes and techniques, maintaining proper records.
- Reduce welding consumable wastage by estimating and controlling ordering and consumption within budget.
- Implement productive welding processes and introduce new techniques to reduce cycle time and costs.
- Research and evaluate new welding developments for potential application to improve or remedy existing processes.
- Coordinate failure and root cause analyses related to welding issues.
- Train personnel for better performance and maintain a repair rate below 1%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Welding, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Welding Engineer in process equipment or heat exchangers manufacturing.
Skills:
- Certificates such as CSWIP, CWI, or IWE.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Primavera or MS Project, ORACLE ERP system exposure.
- Excellent communication skills in English, and/or Arabic.
- Results-oriented, detail-focused, quick and methodical worker.
- Team player with flexibility, good decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of ASME, API, NACE standards, and familiarity with Saudi Aramco/SABIC standards.
- Deep understanding of engineering drawings.
