Key Accountability:
- Responsible for safety, production, quality, and budgets for their area of mine operations.
- Work with manager, HOD, other Superintendents, and frontline supervisors to control mine operations.
- Responsible for workers, equipment, tools, and materials in mine operations.
- Prepare and approve plans, delegate work, oversee progress, solve problems, and take corrective actions.
- Organize budgets and monitor spending.
- Prepare reports on production, safety, project progress, and more.
- Lead and participate in meetings and briefings.
- Recruit, train, and develop employees with support from supervisors and HR.
- Oversee supervisor development, providing support and guidance.
- Collaborate with trade unions, supervisors, and HR to resolve personnel issues.
- Plan production schedules, liaising with Geology, Engineering, and Mine Engineering teams.
- Implement operational excellence activities.
- Ensure proper handling of explosive shipments and payments.
- Research new methods and products for mine production.
- Supervise assigned personnel and exercise departmental financial authority.
- Implement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs.
- Coordinate and control mining equipment for optimal production.
- Manage contractor performance to ensure quality and safety standards.
- Monitor quality standards including dilution, ore loss, and geotechnical parameters.
- Ensure safe operation of personnel and contractors within the mining area.
- Develop continuous improvement strategies and monitor equipment availability.
- Identify risks and implement controls.
- Assist new employees in proper work procedures.
- Monitor progress against plans and budgets.
- Review and improve mining methods and equipment performance.
- Oversee and approve drill and blast plans.
- Drive productivity and cost reduction initiatives.
- Develop and ensure compliance with pit design standards.
- Lead and develop the mine team, providing mentorship and support.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining, Geology, or Survey Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of technical experience in mining operations.
- Skills include good knowledge of English, achievement orientation, teamwork, ethics, and values.
