Academy Fitness Coach - Be Part of a Legacy Bigger Than the Game

Overview:

As an Academy Fitness Coach at Al-Qadsiah Club, you will design and deliver physical training programs tailored to youth development, ensuring young athletes in the Professional Development Phase (PDP) grow stronger, avoid injuries, and perform at their best. Working in harmony with coaches and performance staff, you will prepare future professionals aligned with our club's philosophy and playing model.

Key Responsibilities:

Performance Planning and Development

  • Design age-appropriate physical development plans for academy players
  • Support transition of high-potential players to first team standards
  • Align physical programs with tactical and technical coaching plans
  • Conduct regular assessments and adjust training accordingly
  • Develop tailored development plans for top talent

Injury Prevention and Management

  • Partner with medical staff to reduce injury risk
  • Monitor fatigue and workload using data and analytics
  • Implement individualized recovery protocols

Analysis and Monitoring

  • Use GPS, accelerometers, and strength testing to monitor performance
  • Analyze physical data and adapt programs to meet development goals
  • Produce regular performance reports for staff and management

Player Education and Development

  • Educate players on nutrition, recovery, and performance preparation
  • Foster physical discipline and performance culture within the academy
  • Collaborate with sports psychologists on mental well-being and resilience

Professional Development and Research

  • Stay up to date on emerging practices in sports science
  • Attend courses and seminars to inform evidence-based methods
  • Contribute to Academy meetings and align with youth development goals

Other

  • Undertake additional duties as required by the Head of Performance or Academy Technical Director

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Exercise Physiology, or a related field
  • Certification from UEFA, AFC, CAF, CONCACAF, or CONMEBOL Fitness Coaching

Desirable:

  • Master's degree in Strength & Conditioning or Sports Performance
  • Additional certification such as NSCA-CSCS or equivalent
  • FIFA Guardian safeguarding qualification

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

  • Previous experience in youth football fitness coaching
  • Advanced understanding of youth-specific exercise physiology and training
  • Skilled in using performance technology tools (e.g., GPS, strength testing)
  • Collaborative mindset for working across performance and medical teams
  • Strong communication skills with staff and young players
  • Cultural adaptability in a diverse international environment
  • Proficiency in English; Arabic and Spanish are an advantage

Desirable:

  • Experience coaching at the senior level
  • Prior experience working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East
