Job Description :
The role of Weapon System Analyst (WSA) EWSM is to equip the RSAF with the knowledge and skills necessary to independently and indigenously analyze EW data. This role primarily addresses the needs of TVACD (but also on occasions other sections such as EW Operations) by collating source data required to define Weapon System engagement characteristics.
The aims for this EWSM are to provide assistance to and mentoring of the RSAF TVACD team as follows :
- To be the central focus for all knowledge related to threat systems including platforms and weapons.
- Liaison with ELINT and Emitter analysts to obtain the most up-to-date information on threats.
- Researching all available data for Threat Weapons Systems, understanding and determining the salient features to support countermeasure development.
- Collating source data required to define Threat Weapon System (including own platform) engagement characteristics and behaviours including :
- The compilation of Weapon Systems Analysis reports of sufficient integrity to be used by Countermeasure developers and TVACD modellers in creating countermeasures.
- Identifying data required for models of Weapons Systems and providing completed input proforma in Weapon System Data Report format suitable for use by the modelling tool.
- Identifying requirements and test criteria for models of Weapons Systems.
- Writing reports capturing Threat Weapon System knowledge, including highlighting potential vulnerabilities.
- Delivery of OJT to RSAF.
- Support development and maintenance of processes.
- In addition, the post is to carry out any other duties reasonably requested by the RSAF.
You really must have experience in the following :
- Electrical / Electronic / Control / Systems Engineering / physics graduate or equivalent Bachelor Degree.
- MS Office skills (Intermediate).
- Numerate & strong English language skills.
- Industrial experience working as a design engineer or equivalent (5 Years).
- Experience of Simulink computer simulation.
- Experience of EW countermeasure development.
- Radar / Electro-Optic / Infrared or Guided Weapon experience.
You really must have the following skills :
- Self-motivated with a strong aptitude for problem-solving and decision making, able to work unsupervised using your own initiative.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across internal / external stakeholders at varying levels.
- Good written and verbal presentation ability.
- Flexible approach to working environment with the ability to work well in a team.
- Knowledge of Weapon Systems and countermeasure techniques.
- MS Office.
- System Engineering methodologies.
- Matlab, Simulink.
- Appreciation of countermeasure development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of Defence and Aerospace Markets.
- Experience of training others.
It would be nice if you had :
- Knowledge of Middle Eastern culture and/or military working environment.
- Familiarisation with Leonardo EWOS capabilities.
