Job description

Job Purpose

Lead and manage the strategic planning, operation, and continuous improvement of DACO’s airport electrical systems, including power distribution (Electrical switchgear) and backup systems (generators, UPS, and batteries). Ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all electrical systems while complying with regulatory standards and optimizing energy management practices across DACO’s airport infrastructure.

Position Accountability Description

Strategic Leadership:

  1. Formulate and execute a comprehensive electrical systems management strategy, ensuring the effective distribution of power and continuous operation of backup systems aligned with DACO’s operational goals.
  2. Drive strategic initiatives for electrical system enhancements, focusing on energy efficiency, sustainability, and the integration of advanced technologies for power monitoring, distribution, and backup.
  3. Lead the definition and implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance and reliability of power distribution and backup systems, driving optimization strategies.

Operational Excellence:

  1. Lead the development and implementation of maintenance and operational processes for airport electrical systems, ensuring safe and efficient power distribution across all terminals and facilities.
  2. Direct the monitoring and maintenance of electrical backup systems (e.g., generators, UPS, batteries) to ensure seamless operation during power outages and critical incidents.
  3. Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical infrastructure, ensuring compliance with international standards and best practices for both distribution and backup systems.
  4. Develop and manage the implementation of capacity planning strategies to optimize power distribution, ensuring the airport’s current and future electrical demands are efficiently met.
  5. Ensure the integration of advanced technologies for energy management, improving the overall efficiency and sustainability of DACO’s electrical systems.
  6. Conduct regular assessments of the airport’s electrical systems to identify improvement opportunities and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  7. Drive initiatives to reduce energy consumption and improve sustainability across the airport, incorporating renewable energy sources where applicable.
  8. Oversee emergency response protocols related to electrical system failures, ensuring rapid resolution to minimize operational downtime.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Education Background: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant Experience: Minimum of 12 years of total experience in electrical systems management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large-scale power distribution and backup systems.
