Job description

The Electrician is responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance and repair of facility electrical equipment. This position performs installation, monitoring, maintenance, repair, and/or design modification of high-tech distributed manufacturing and industrial process control systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  1. Repair, replace and install sensors, actuators, transformers, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, electric eyes, conduit systems, switches, defective wiring, etc.
  2. Troubleshoot, repair, replace PLCs, Servo and Frequency Drives and related electronic hardware.
  3. Disassemble, inspect, reassemble, troubleshoot, repair and replace malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input/output boards, controllers, servos, gears, sprockets, chains, knives, etc.) using test equipment.
  4. Use blueprints and wiring diagrams to plan and execute electrical repairs and installations.
  5. Properly use tools such as hacksaws, pipe benders, pipe threaders, hammers, screwdrivers, splice wires, and install conduit, panel boards, switch boxes, motors, drives, and other electrical equipment.
  6. Test or recommend new electronic equipment, staying informed of the latest technology.
  7. Maintain and adjust guides, flap tuckers, sealing jaws, sensors, servos, and timing for packaging process systems to improve efficiency and quality.
  8. Perform routine preventive maintenance as per schedule.
  9. Install change parts on production machinery.
  10. Assist with small to medium electrical and automation projects.
  11. Use and maintain technical materials such as manuals, MSDS, system drawings, PID's, schematics, and blueprints for troubleshooting and maintenance. Maintain documentation according to change management procedures.
  12. Provide technical training and support to production staff, fostering continuous learning.
  13. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
  14. Utilize company systems for tracking and documentation.
  15. Train others in job tasks related to this role.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED and 5 years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience. Proficiency in electrical skills: PLC programming, electrical circuits, schematics, servo motors, and familiarity with 460/220 3-phase wiring.

Minimum Requirements

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Effective communication skills with groups or employees.
