Summary: The Firm Tax team is part of PwC Middle East Group’s OneFinance function. It supports all levels of the firm’s tax activities and is organized into three subfunctions: Compliance & Audit, Governance & Risk, and Legal & Tax Advisory. This role supports the Compliance & Audit subfunction.

The ME Firm Tax Compliance & Audit Senior Associate is responsible for handling tax activities for PwC ME Group entities under the supervision of the subfunction Lead, collaborating with the wider Firm Tax team and finance tax specialists across the ME region.

The main focus is to support tax compliance and audit matters, optimize PwC’s tax position, minimize tax leakage, manage risks, and understand tax implications of cross-border transactions and business models.

This includes data collection, validation, and preparation of tax compliance and reporting requirements such as corporate income tax, withholding tax (WHT), and VAT returns; responding to tax audits and inquiries; and addressing tax questions from internal teams and clients.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Compliance:
  2. Prepare corporate income tax, WHT, and VAT returns for review, ensuring deadlines are met.
  3. Reconcile tax to statutory accounts and validate accounts and entries.
  4. Provide analysis and reports highlighting risks, exposures, and opportunities.
  5. Collaborate with the team to understand jurisdictional tax laws.
  6. Guide transactions to optimize tax liabilities.

Audit:

  • Contribute to tax audits conducted by internal and external auditors.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Organize analyses, support tax training, and develop relationships with stakeholders.
  • Participate in business development and refine tax policies.
  • Assist in team recruitment, development, and training.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Law, or related field. Certified Tax Accountant or CPA preferred.

Language: Bilingual in English and Arabic, fluent in both written and spoken.

Experience: 2-4 years in tax, with experience in corporate tax, WHT, VAT, and payroll. Knowledge of other taxes is a plus.

Specific Experience: Corporate income tax compliance and accounting experience; experience in a top-tier professional services firm is advantageous.

Skills: Understanding of accounting standards, analytical skills, adherence to procedures, excellent communication, and ethical conduct.
