As a Contracts Engineer for Medical Equipment and Devices, you will be responsible for overseeing contract management operations, ensuring effective execution of contracts, managing stakeholder relationships, and optimizing contract strategies to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and deliver successful project outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Analyze, negotiate, draft, and manage contracts related to medical equipment and devices.
  2. Collaborate with the supply chain function, legal department, and regulatory teams.
  3. Develop and implement acquisition strategies for future contracts related to medical equipment and devices.
  4. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements for contracts, tenders, and variations.
  5. Support project execution procedures and ensure compliance with contract procedures, especially for medical equipment projects.
  6. Communicate with clients, project managers, and engineers to address project requirements, risks, and regulatory considerations for medical equipment.
  7. Manage contracts from initiation to completion, ensuring effective stakeholder communication and conducting risk analysis.
  8. Review pricing and terms and conditions, ensuring their impact on the organization’s financial and technical factors, specifically related to medical equipment.
  9. Assist in preparing quotations, bids, and proposals for new contracts in the medical equipment and devices industry.
  10. Conduct field inspections to assess contract progress, identify deficiencies in medical equipment installations, and recommend solutions.
  11. Perform site surveys, system designs, and prepare specifications, presentations, and documentation related to medical equipment and devices.
  12. Manage the contract team to meet project and contract deadlines, particularly for medical equipment installations and maintenance.
  13. Monitor and report on contract and vendor performance, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  14. Ensure clear deliverables for medical equipment projects through handover meetings with the process team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract roles or a similar position in the medical equipment and devices industry.
  3. Proven expertise in project management, risk management, and healthcare industry regulations.
  4. Strong knowledge of medical device regulatory requirements, including FDA, CE, and other relevant standards.
  5. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, with experience in contract management software.
  6. Excellent negotiation, management, and decision-making skills, especially in the medical sector.
  7. Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining high performance and compliance with healthcare standards.
  8. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  9. Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
  10. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for work as required.
