The Planning Engineer is part of the shared services team and will be responsible for providing support to the construction supervision team regarding planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring of the works. The goal is to ensure project completion within the designated time frame and budget.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Understand the project scope, quantities, and logical sequence of engineering, manufacturing, and construction activities.
- Utilize planning tools such as MS Excel, MS Project, Primavera, among others.
- Develop and implement progress charts (histograms, S-curves), and analyze deviations from the plan.
- Conduct probabilistic analysis for project completion, progress, risks, and forecasts.
- Create work resource methods and statements based on strategic applications.
- Understand contractual matters, earn value management, change control, and familiarization with project management scope and breakdown structures.
- Prepare cost estimates, schedules, manpower, equipment, and materials allocations, and construction sequences.
- Develop Extension of Time claims and conduct delay analysis.
- Estimate manpower requirements and monitor actual manpower deployment.
- Maintain records of project variations and additional works.
- Attend client progress meetings and prepare dashboards and reports.
- Review and monitor subcontractor programs and reports, and oversee submission and approval processes.
- Prepare periodic material procurement schedules considering long lead times.
- Generate periodic and ad hoc reports for management and clients.
- Deliver presentations as instructed by management.
- Update project registers for procurement, subcontracting, documentation, and drawings.
- Identify project risks and critical activities, and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate actively in operational and executive meetings.
- Undergo regular performance appraisals and evaluations.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties as required.

Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university
- Experience with reputable consulting engineering firms
- At least 6 years of experience in planning
- 3-4 years of local market experience, familiar with local traditions, customs, and technologies
- Certification in project planning, scheduling (Primavera P6, Primavera Contract Management, Expedition), and cost engineering
- Proficiency in related software such as AutoCAD, 3D Max, Photoshop, etc.
