Job description

Job Title: Director of Materials Management

We are currently seeking passionate and dynamic Materials professionals who pride themselves on delivering extraordinary customer service and providing creative solutions to our guests.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all administrative functions of the Materials Department, including staffing, training, and related duties.
  2. Maintain logical storeroom inventory levels necessary for operations.
  3. Oversee hygiene, fire and safety standards, proper storing arrangements, cleanliness of storerooms and freezers according to corporate, local, and international standards.
  4. Inform management and department heads about pending items, new procedures, system difficulties, and other relevant matters.
  5. Obtain written approval for established stock levels from the Director of Finance / Financial Controller and General Manager.
  6. Issue regular reports on slow-moving items.
  7. Ensure the validity of items, manage obsolete stock, and follow up on disposal actions.
  8. Verify that all documentation and quotations are maintained and filed according to Rotana policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ideally hold a bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years of experience in a similar role within a multinational group.
  • Proficiency in an international computer purchasing system software.
  • Previous Middle East experience is essential.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
