Job description

Hays are supporting a project-based organisation in Al Khobar who are looking for a Finance Manager to join the team.

As the Finance Manager, you will oversee the financial operations for a project-based organisation, ensuring each project's financial performance aligns with overall company goals. You will be responsible for 1 direct report, and this role will require expertise in project accounting, budget control, and financial analysis, with a focus on managing cash flow and profitability across multiple, often concurrent, projects.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and strategies.
  • Prepare business plans and yearly master budget for the organisation
  • Review and approve bids ensuring the company strategy in terms of GP & NI.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure that financial targets are met and risks are minimised.
  • Perform variance analysis to compare actual performance against budget, identifying and addressing discrepancies.
  • Ensure that all the transactions are recorded, summarised and reported to a give true and fair view of the financial statements.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements along with management reports and variance analysis to measure performance of the organisation and take corrective actions wherever required.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports for individual projects and overall company performance.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making for new and ongoing projects.
  • Manage the preparation of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reports.
  • Monitor financial performance and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
  • Manage bank facilities to ensure healthy financing for the projects and ensure positive cash flow by minimizing funding gap to be met by the bank facilities.
  • Monitor company's financials to meet the bank covenants agreed as per facility agreement
  • Verifying and approving bids pricing, preparing project budgets, controlling project spending and project performance measurement.
  • Reviewing and negotiating commercial terms and conditions for proposals and contracts for various projects.
  • Implementing risk management policies, internal controls, policies and procedures to comply IFRS, Industrial Practices and government rules and regulations.
  • Monitor and manage financial risks associated with project execution and deliverables.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, including accountants and analysts.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration between finance and project teams.
  • Oversee the integration of financial systems and tools to support project tracking and reporting.
  • Liaise with external partners such as auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support negotiations with vendors and subcontractors by providing financial insights.
  • Ensure that all tax/zakat returns are filed in compliance to ZATCA regulations.
  • Improvise ERP and enhance digital transformation for the finance functions of the organisation.

Requirements:

  • You must have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, professional accounting qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CMA etc. would be a bonus.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in financial management, including project accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Background working in engineering, construction or project-based industry.
  • You must be fluent in both Arabic and English.
  • Proficient using ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
