Job Summary
The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of MEP construction projects. This includes ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are installed and functioning efficiently within building projects. The role involves coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure MEP systems are designed, installed, and commissioned according to project specifications, codes, and industry standards. Additionally, the manager oversees budgeting, scheduling, procurement, quality control, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements throughout the construction process.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines for MEP systems to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Lead architects, engineers, and construction professionals to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into overall project plans.
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards.
- Implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.
- Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Approve and manage MEP contractors, suppliers, and vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
- Identify and resolve issues related to MEP systems during construction to minimize delays and maintain project progress.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings.
- Ensure all MEP work complies with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Communicate regularly with clients and stakeholders, providing updates on project status, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction with outcomes.

Job Knowledge & Skills
- Good knowledge of construction, MEP activities, and Quality Management Systems.
- Knowledge of building systems, energy technologies, green building, and high-performance design.
- Understanding of marketing strategy and market analysis techniques is a strong plus.
- Team-oriented, hands-on, highly skilled, adaptive, and client-focused.
- Knowledge of MEP construction and subcontracting (electrical and controls preferred).
- Strong written and oral communication skills for customer interaction and report writing.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, performance contracting, commissioning, BIM, or green building is a strong plus, with a proven track record on completing projects.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP, with functional skills necessary for success in this role.
Job Experience
Minimum 8 years of working experience, with at least 5 years relevant experience; 2 years GCC experience is a plus.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Professional registration in MMUP (UPDA) or LEED Certification is preferred.
