The opportunity
This role is responsible for the primary engineering of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), actively contributing to reducing lead time and costs by developing solutions aligned with project technical requirements, while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
How you’ll make an impact
- Preparing electrical and gas single-line diagrams, planning, and section drawings based on various offers, tenders, and customer requirements.
- Preparing technical particulars of GIS and high-voltage equipment such as breakers and disconnectors for customer submissions.
- Reviewing deliverables before submission to clients and preparing technical documents for procurement of current and voltage transformers.
- Participating in customer meetings and project review meetings, adhering to project plans to ensure timely delivery.
- Focusing on optimized solutions that benefit both the customer and Hitachi Energy, and collaborating with civil, steel, and application engineers within Hitachi Energy or EPC companies.
- Upholding Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions and caring for colleagues and the business.
Your background
- A bachelor’s degree or a 3-year diploma in electrical engineering or a relevant industry qualification is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant GIS experience.
- Hands-on experience with 3D tools like ProE / CREO, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
- Knowledge of relevant international standards such as IEC/ANSI for high-voltage GIS products.
- Experience in preparing GIS layouts for various voltage levels, understanding variances, and minimizing design variances.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
