Job Description
Reporting and Responsibilities:
- Support the Talent & Culture Manager in managing the department, including Recruitment, Benefits, Activities/Communications, and Administration, ensuring high service standards for internal and external clients.
- Assist in developing and coordinating Talent & Culture programs aligned with company policies and competitive practices.
- Act as an internal consultant for coaching on Talent & Culture policies, employment standards, and programs.
- Counsel and coach colleagues on job issues, career development, and performance management.
- Uphold hotel philosophies on hiring, employee relations, supervision, and disciplinary actions, ensuring policy consistency.
- Demonstrate professional leadership aligned with the hotel’s culture.
- Coordinate annual compensation reviews.
- Manage Talent & Culture projects as required.
- Champion training and development initiatives at all levels.
- Ensure compliance with standards and conduct training needs analysis biannually.
- Oversee new employee induction and maintain individual training plans.
- Manage the Hotel Training committee and departmental trainers, develop training schedules, and coach staff on training opportunities.
- Implement new corporate programs and administer the Hotel Educational Assistance Policy.
- Promote learning capabilities and recognize staff contributions through programs and committees.
- Support CSR activities and participate in other departmental programs.
- Create and implement new Talent & Culture initiatives as needed.
- Coordinate and update the EES Action Plan for developmental needs.
- Assist with staff welfare programs, including staff change rooms and cafeteria oversight.
Health and Safety
- Foster a health and safety culture, ensuring workplace safety compliance and employee awareness, guided by South African Labour Law.
- Participate in the hotel’s sustainability initiatives.
Talent Acquisition and Management
- Identify and develop employees for future roles, including mentoring programs.
- Oversee placement and liaise with Hotel School for student internships.
Training and Development
- Coordinate and implement training programs to enhance guest service and leadership skills.
- Address departmental training needs and develop individual development plans.
- Ensure training attendance records are maintained and applications for grants are submitted.
- Oversee onboarding, succession planning, and mandatory training programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, or related field.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hospitality experience preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
