Job Purpose

Saudi Aramco is looking for a Minerals Processing Technical Advisor to work as part of the technical team within the Aramco Minerals organization under the Upstream Business Line.

We are seeking a highly skilled Mineral Processing Engineer to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will participate in improving existing systems and implementing new technologies to enhance performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including geologists, metallurgists, and environmental specialists—to ensure our processing operations meet the highest standards of efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to reduce capital expenditure, operational costs, and increase recovery rates.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement efficient mineral processing techniques for different types of transition minerals & optimize processes to improve recovery rates and reduce costs.
  2. Conduct comprehensive metallurgical tests to analyze the properties and behavior of transition minerals under different conditions.
  3. Evaluate and implement advanced technologies, including hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, and bioleaching, to optimize mineral processing operations.
  4. Conduct technical and economic assessments of mineral processing projects, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  5. Provide expert input on feasibility studies, capital expenditure estimates, and return-on-investment analyses.
  6. Stay well-informed of emerging trends, technologies, and practices in transition minerals processing to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  7. Review the feasibility study of minerals processing facilities including lithium, graphite, and nickel, validate key assumptions and technical methodologies, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
  8. Assess the viability of proposed processing technologies and their scalability for lithium, graphite, and nickel.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in processing lithium, cobalt, graphite, nickel, or rare earth elements. Project management experience with design and construction phases of mineral processing facilities is preferable.
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and communicate clearly with specialists in other fields.
  • Proven technical contributions in the mineral industry through publications, patents, or mentoring programs.
  • Strong understanding of mineralogy and metallurgical principles for transition minerals.
