Job Purpose
Jobs at this level are responsible for ensuring high quality of assigned projects through effective supervision and execution of assignments with respect to time and project schedules. They also assist in articulating comprehensive long-term strategies and plans for STC’s non-technical projects, in alignment with overall STC objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage multiple related projects in a coordinated manner to achieve benefits unattainable if handled separately.
- Formulate project management budgets and plans considering strategic, operational, and implementation costs, along with annual improvement plans.
- Oversee implementation of new outlets and refurbishments, ensuring logistical and technical requirements are met in coordination with procurement.
- Identify bottlenecks and optimize process flows to improve efficiencies, control costs, and drive synergies within project management.
- Develop and articulate long-term plans (3-year, 5-year) for general projects and analyze these for senior management.
- Review and approve project design and tender documents, including scope of work, bill of quantities, and contractual terms.
- Prepare feasibility studies, master plans, and budgets for non-technical projects, ensuring compliance with budgets.
- Create comprehensive project plans and strategies for high-budget or high-risk projects, defining scope, objectives, and processes.
- Manage project scheduling tools and procedures for effective control.
- Monitor design and implementation by consultants and contractors to ensure standards are met.
- Track project progress against schedules, budgets, and objectives, reporting regularly to management.
- Approve change requests impacting scope, schedule, or budget; ensure changes are reflected in project milestones.
- Manage sign-off processes from consultants upon project completion and review non-technical projects before handover.
- Evaluate vendor bids, participate in negotiations, and oversee vendor registration and review processes.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent delays.
- Coordinate with relevant sectors on contract management, invoicing, and payments.
- Troubleshoot and provide insights into bottlenecks in project management processes.
- Analyze reports and metrics to identify issues and implement preventive measures.
- Research market best practices and recommend improvements to critical work processes.
- Develop contingency plans and support Disaster Recovery (DR) project phases for general projects.
