Job description

Overview

We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our Artificial Intelligence and Analytics Organization (AI&A) within the Digital Transformation Office at Aramco. AI&A is dedicated to leveraging the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and analytics to generate business value. We serve as a center of excellence for AI technologies and data science in Saudi Aramco.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities for data-driven solutions.
2. Mine and analyze data to optimize product development and business strategies.
3. Evaluate new data sources and gathering techniques for effectiveness and accuracy.
4. Develop custom data models and algorithms for datasets.
5. Support ideation processes for new ideas and products, preparing them for minimal viable product development.
6. Assess the applicability of AI to improve current business processes.

Minimum Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related fields.
• At least 8 years of experience in Data Science and AI projects, including Generative AI, Computer Vision, NLP, and Time Series. Experience in the energy sector is a plus.
• Proven ability to bring ideas from conceptualization to production using tools like MLflow, Kubeflow, TensorLight, etc.
• Strong expertise in data collection, cleaning, preprocessing, and wrangling.
• Fluent in Python or R; familiarity with Golang is a plus.
• Extensive experience with machine learning techniques and methods, with at least 5 years in building computer vision-based products.
• Ability to apply transfer learning on models like YOLO, ViT, ResNet, U-Net, AlexNet.
• Proficiency in building object detection, face/gesture recognition, and identification engines.
• Experience in designing, developing, and deploying systems based on Generative AI technology.
• Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as Keras, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
• Deep knowledge of Large Language and Vision Transformer architectures.
• Experience in Information Retrieval tasks such as content recommendation, search metrics, document classification, entity recognition, and topic modeling.
• Proficient in transfer learning and fine-tuning open-source transformer models like LAMA, Mistral, Gemma, LLAVA, QWen, and Intern.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in time series forecasting models, using LSTMs, Prophet, etc.
• Proficient with tools like sklearn, pandas, numpy, plotly, seaborn, and relevant R libraries if preferred.
