Overview

We are seeking a Gas Production Engineer to join the Unconventional Production Engineering Division of the UR Production Engineering Department.

The division provides technical support for all unconventional rig-less activities, production optimization, and well integrity analysis for unconventional wells in Saudi Arabia.

Your primary role is to be a key technical contributor to multidisciplinary Development and Production Operations Teams in our unconventional fields.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design well completions, monitor production, optimize artificial lift performance, and develop production targets for wells.
  • Integrate production system modeling, field development planning, ensure well integrity, and provide best practices for well interventions. Serve as a technical mentor to team members and new graduates.
  • Participate in aggressive field development activities, analyzing and optimizing vertical, horizontal, and multi-frac well performance.
  • Mentor, train, and transfer knowledge to colleagues.
  • Develop innovative plunger lift and rod lift designs suited to unconventional reservoirs.
  • Collaborate with reservoir and production engineers to optimize lift systems and align strategies with reservoir and production goals.
  • Analyze production data and equipment performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Implement data-driven solutions to enhance lift system performance.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • At least 10 years of experience as a Production Engineer, with a minimum of 5 years in unconventional fields.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and provide occasional field coverage.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Reservoir, Drilling, and Facilities departments.
  • Proficiency in simulation software such as Prosper, Saphir, WellCat, or equivalents, with skills in nodal analysis and rod modeling.
  • Deep understanding of liquid loading issues, well de-liquefaction practices, and production best practices.
