ASMO is a groundbreaking joint venture between DHL and Saudi Aramco. Inheriting DHL’s logistics excellence and Saudi Aramco’s extensive supply chain ecosystem, we are here to set a new benchmark and redefine the procurement and supply chain landscape, enabling growth.

ASMO aims to be operational in 2025 and provide reliable end-to-end integrated procurement and supply chain services for companies across the industrial, energy, chemical, and petrochemical sectors. Our focus customers in the short term will be Saudi Aramco and its Affiliates. In the long term, all the industrial sectors within Saudi Arabia aim to reach the MENA region.

Objective:

The primary purpose of a Sustainability Director is to lead and advance an organization’s sustainability agenda, ensuring that environmental, social, and economic considerations are integrated into its operations and strategic planning. This role is crucial in promoting long-term sustainability, enhancing the organization’s reputation, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.

General Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to the development and execution of the Department's short to mid-term strategic plan to ensure alignment with the Department’s strategic priorities and the corporate goals.
  2. Develop and execute a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns with the organization’s overall mission and goals, fostering a commitment to sustainable practices across all functions.
  3. Monitor, control, and report key performance indicators related to the Department to track performance and recommend corrective actions.
  4. Develop and implement a long-term sustainability strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission, values, and goals.
  5. Conduct sustainability assessments to identify areas of improvement and set measurable objectives.
  6. Initiate and oversee sustainability programs across various departments, such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource conservation.
  7. Pilot innovative projects that demonstrate the organization’s commitment to sustainability.
  8. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability standards, mitigating risks associated with non-compliance.
  9. Minimize the organization’s environmental impact by implementing initiatives that promote resource conservation, reduce waste, and enhance energy efficiency.
  10. Engage and educate internal and external stakeholders about sustainability initiatives, fostering collaboration and support for sustainability goals.
  11. Identify and implement innovative solutions and best practices in sustainability, positioning the organization as a leader in corporate social responsibility.
  12. Establish metrics and reporting systems that track progress toward sustainability goals, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  13. Promote a culture of sustainability within the organization, encouraging employees to adopt sustainable practices in their daily work.
  14. Enhance the organization’s positive impact on the community by initiating programs that address social and environmental challenges.
  15. Lead awareness campaigns and training sessions to educate employees about sustainable practices.
  16. Advocate for sustainability initiatives at the executive level and within the broader community.
  17. Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives.
  18. Regularly review and report on sustainability performance to senior management and the board.
  19. Manage the activities of direct reports to ensure efficient work aligned with business plans, policies, and procedures.
  20. Manage performance by setting objectives, mentoring, coaching, and providing constructive feedback.
  21. Identify training and development needs, collaborating with Human Capital to ensure continuous progression and high competence within the team.
  22. Contribute to defining an optimal departmental structure for smooth workflow and resource utilization.
  23. Assist in preparing and monitoring the department’s budget, identifying areas of unsatisfactory performance, and recommending mitigation strategies.
  24. Manage implementation of change initiatives considering international best practices and business environment changes.
  25. Recommend improvements to procedures, ensuring compliance, standards, and operational efficiency.
  26. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in systems, processes, and practices to enhance effectiveness.
  27. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of reports meeting department requirements and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certifications such as LEED AP, ISO 14001, or CSP are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English, both oral and written.
  • Minimum 13 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in facility management and maintenance.
