ROLE OVERVIEW
The Capital Accounting Senior Manager is responsible for the management and delivery of the capital accounting team, ensuring the team fully understands capital progress in each Region / Sector and all assets are fully documented, as well as working as acting as an escalation route from the Regions and Sectors. The holder will work closely with Projects and the Businesses to ensure projects are properly monitored and accounted for and making sure that Financial Reporting & Control is aware and proactively engaged with all current developments. The role holder will assist in the development of management systems, processes and procedures to ensure appropriate accounting, reporting and control for all NEOM project activities.
REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY
- Assess and execute on identified key priorities for Group Capital Accounting and Financial Control for continued enhancement of capital accounting capabilities
- Lead your team and ensure it coordinates closely with the Commercial and Technical teams to, in turn, enable accurate and timely financial management of projects and related contracts within the organization, assessing and reporting the costs, key variances, financial status, appropriate categorization and valuation of CWIP and Fixed Assets and ensuring that operational assets are capitalized promptly.
- Ability to use professional knowledge and skills in Transactional & Financial Accounting Principles, including CWIP accounting, cost allocation, account reconciliations and controls, combined with a high degree of diligence to contribute proactively to continuous improvement of organization’s accounting, reconciliation processes, policy enhancement and standards.
- Help to create an organizational environment that facilitates close cross functional collaboration with commercial and technical teams to ensure projects are properly tracked and accounted for, especially in relation to the timely recording and reconciliation of incurred costs;
- Work to ensure the Capital accounting team is adequately resourced for planned business activities by NEOM.
- Ensure the Regions and Sectors are reporting consistent financial information and that SAP S/4HANA, PS (Project System) and Oracle PMIS are aligned

The Capital Accounting Senior Manager responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Stakeholder Management

- Work closely with internal teams, including communications, project management, and legal, to ensure stakeholder interests are aligned with organizational objectives.

- Mediate disputes or misunderstandings, ensuring that resolutions are in the best interest of both the stakeholders and the organization.
Change Management
- Stay informed about best practices in stakeholder management and apply them to enhance engagement strategies.
- Seek feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve the quality of engagement and communication.
- Promote transparency and accountability in all interactions with stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks associated with the change and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Develop a strategy that outlines the approach, resources and timelines for implementing the change.
Project Management
- Provide regular reports to senior management on stakeholder engagement status, risks, and opportunities.
- Use feedback and data to refine and improve stakeholder management strategies.
- Coordinate stakeholder involvement in projects, ensuring their feedback is integrated into planning and decision-making processes.
- Track and monitor stakeholder engagement activities and their impact on project outcomes.
Leadership
- Lead the Capital Accounting Team on a day-to-day basis
- Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and other communication materials tailored to stakeholder needs.
- Ensure that all stakeholder engagement activities comply with the relevant regulations and ethical standards.
- Utilize data analytics to drive strategies and decisions.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in project and asset accounting
- Significant experience in managing audits
- Experience working on large infrastructure or real estate programs
- Strong knowledge of IFRS
- Exposure and interaction with SAP and / or Oracle project accounting and asset management.
- Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
- Highly skilled in use of Excel / PowerPoint;
- Excellent verbal skills;
