AtkinsRéalis is seeking an accomplished Resident Engineer – Structures with a strong background in structural engineering and construction supervision of civil infrastructure v & roads projects. The role will involve overseeing the structural works on-site, including underpass upgrades, reinforced concrete works, retaining structures, and foundation systems, as part of the Project. The ideal candidate should have at least 15 years of post-graduate experience, with a minimum of 7 years in structural works supervision in Qatar.

Responsibilities:
Supervise and inspect all structural works related to reinforced concrete underpasses, foundations, retaining walls, trough sections, and related civil structures.
Review and approve shop drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), method statements, and material submittals for structural components.
Ensure that construction complies with design intent, technical specifications, and client's structural guidelines.
Coordinate with geotechnical and drainage teams for ground water protection and slab construction interface (e.g., counterweight slabs, waterproofing).
Attend inspections and witness testing of structural materials including rebar, concrete, and waterproofing systems.
Monitor construction progress and ensure timely completion of critical structural milestones.
Issue site instructions, NCRs, and observations as necessary to enforce compliance and rectify defects.
Lead coordination with contractors, subcontractors, and relevant stakeholders for sequencing, lifting plans, and safety procedures.
Support the review of structural calculation notes, temporary works proposals, and method statements for specialized tasks.
Participate in technical and site progress meetings, providing expert advice and status updates.
Prepare daily reports, structural inspection logs, and participate in project close-out and as-built verification.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in civil/mechanical engineering (WHED-listed university).
Minimum 15 years total experience, with at least 7 years in road and structural works supervision (preferably bridges, underpasses, and infrastructure structures).
Grade A civil Engineer UPDA certificate, Preferred – Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional license.
Minium five years’ experience in Qatar.
GCC/Qatar infrastructure projects.
Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
Knowledge of Qatar standards, road material specs, QA/QC processes, and stakeholder coordination.
Familiar with document management systems, MS Office, AutoCAD (viewing), and site-related software.
Key Competencies:
In-depth understanding of reinforced concrete design, construction, and specifications.
Experience in large-scale infrastructure or transportation structures (e.g., underpasses, culverts).
Strong technical review and documentation skills.
Coordination and leadership capabilities on fast-paced sites.
Knowledge of waterproofing systems, groundwater mitigation, and slab uplift protection measures.
Clear and confident communication with stakeholders, contractors, and inspectors.
