Job description

Internal Job Title: Module Assembly Team Leader

Business: Lucy Switchgear, Saudi Arabia

Location: Dammam, Saudi Arabia

You will be responsible for Module Assembly Production as per the plan scheduled achieving high levels of efficiency, productivity, quality and on time delivery. You will also ensure that all HSE, Quality, Inventory, On Time Delivery, and Productivity Requirements are being followed by Assembly Line Team. You will coordinate Module Built Activities in Lucy Saudi Arabia aligned with Global Operations Standards.

Key Accountabilities

The position is responsible to:

  • Meet the Module assembly production target of SF6 Products as per the plan.
  • Responsible for leading the Module Assembly Team.
  • Productivity improvement on a continuous scale and weekly reporting of all production related KPIs like Production Efficiency and FPY.
  • Creating work environment to meet quality standards set by ISO 9001/14001.
  • Allocation of workload to operators on daily basis.
  • BOM validation and error reporting to Contracts Department.
  • Coordinate with Production Engineering Department to optimize the process flow on a continuous scale for cost cutting and waste reduction.
  • Total Quality system implementation by deploying correct manufacturing processes.
  • Total cycle time (throughput time) reduction.
  • Impart Training to workers on Product and other technical aspects of product.
  • Co-ordination with internal customers/suppliers like Fabrication/Stores/Quality to meet production targets in time.
  • Responsible for overall 5S.
  • Ensuring that tools/fixtures/templates, measuring instruments are periodically calibrated as applicable.
  • Workstations and process flow lay out.
  • Facilitate safe working environment for people and implement H&S guidelines and regulations to take active role in continuous improvement & cost cutting projects.
  • Assembly problem solving & train the operators for multiple assemblies.
  • Regular inspection of critical internal assemblies, critical settings, Assembly, and rework/repair.
  • Control & stock management of production consumables and WIP.
  • Timely generate and circulate the reports related to line stoppage.
  • Strictly follow the one-piece flow concept and ensure that this has been followed by all the operators all the time.
  • Develop multiple skill development /training and update the training matrix.
  • Analysis of rejection of material due to operator’s error.
  • Daily production update needs to be circulated for all internal stakeholders.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Automobile Engineering / Bachelor of Technology in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge in ISO standards and Health, Safety standards.
  • Self-starter and takes initiative for additional responsibilities and challenges.
  • Knowledge in Manufacturing processes and Lean Manufacturing Tools as Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Gemba.
  • Analytical and Planning skills to lead manufacturing plant with more than 80 blue collar employees.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding the impact of poor quality and poor health and safety in a manufacturing environment.
