Description
SAIC is seeking an RF Engineer for a position located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves providing installation and integration support for C4I System racks and components for the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF). The successful candidate will work within the Technical Support Center, responsible for system communications verification, RF cabling, terminations, and operational testing during system installations into RSNF vessels, command centers, and training facilities. Additionally, the candidate will handle engineering documentation updates, hardware configuration control items (HCCI), system drawings, bill of materials, cable run sheets, and serial number lists.
Job Duties:
- Support analysis and evaluation of Radio Frequency (RF) systems.
- Conduct Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) surveys before installation to establish the EMI baseline.
- Perform post-installation EMI surveys to identify changes after equipment installation.
- Prepare EMI Summary reports detailing findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineering on system design, software installation, and operational testing, providing solutions for areas needing improvement.
- Construct test cables and prepare for subsequent project segments during project pauses.
- Review RF quality issues, report findings, and update documentation with corrective actions.
- Maintain, repair, and perform functional communication circuit checks on radios (UHF, VHF, HF, VSAT, UHF SATCOM, LINK-11/16) on both ashore and afloat platforms.
- Use specialized test equipment and diagnostics to isolate malfunctions.
- Repair systems following technical orders, manufacturer's handbooks, and local procedures; implement modifications per engineering change plans.
- Perform repairs and troubleshooting down to component level, including ESD handling.
- Soldering using a 3M workstation or portable soldering iron; terminate and test RF and fiber optic cables.
- Provide technical solutions to complex problems through data analysis.
- Engage in frequent inter-organizational and customer contacts.
- Represent the organization in resolving difficult technical issues related to projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with two (2) years of experience, or six (6) years of experience with a GED/HS diploma.
- ACTIVE SECRET security clearance required.
- Experience with system hardware installation, maintenance, and repairs.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Radio (UHF, VHF, HF, VSAT, KVH SATCOM, NTDS/TADIL Data Links), Networking (Cisco IOS), UPS (APC, Clary), GPS, CENTRIXS, GCCS-M/J, ADSI, SY-117G, RF7800 series radios.
- Component-level repair and troubleshooting, including ESD handling.
- Soldering skills with a 3M workstation or portable iron.
- Experience with test and configuration of KG-250 and similar RF communication protection devices.
- Fiber optic cable termination and testing skills.
- Familiarity with installation and configuration of software such as Microsoft Windows (7/10), Office suite, AutoCAD, ADSI, CENTRIXS, GCCS-M/J.
