The role in brief:

Responsible for financial reporting, financial profitability analysis, maintaining the centralized revenue and expenditure accounts of the business units, general ledger accountability, and other special projects as assigned.

Your Responsibilities

1. Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
2. Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
3. Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
4. Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
5. Ensure accounting policies and regulations are adhered to; comply with local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
6. Understand operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, and maintain solutions to business and financial issues.
7. Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies (as applicable), and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
8. Handle the departmental accounting function and coordinate the completion of periodic financial reporting.
9. Prepare statements and maintain accounting records.
10. Advise department head and managers on the use and source of funds.
11. Maintain records of contracts and cost estimates.
12. Advise on accounting matters and provide guidance/assistance to accountants.
13. Assist in formulation of work measures to maximize efficiency and cost savings.
14. Maintain records for internal and external audits.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting in a supervisory capacity
• Communication Skills (written and verbal, in both English and Arabic)
• Experience in a computerized accounting environment
