Job Purpose
- Vendor development for localization
- Purchase direct & indirect materials as per demand
- Settle purchase rates & negotiate with suppliers
- Conduct supplier quality audits
- Handle commodities such as mechanical machined, electrical, fabricated, press, forged, casted parts of the switchgear industry or manufacturing industry & consumables out-of-the-box items
Job Context
Ensure all rate settlements are done according to purchasing policies, develop new vendors for localization, achieve cost reduction through various methods, and improve supplier quality.
Job Dimensions
Develop vendors for direct & indirect materials based on demand, find alternative suppliers, reduce costs, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet business goals.
Key Accountabilities
- Source new suppliers following QMS guidelines of LSA
- Review drawings/specifications
- Develop localization of different commodities in KSA
- Perform should-cost analysis for requirements
- Coordinate with technical internal stakeholders for due diligence of new suppliers/parts
- Float formal enquiries for LSA
- Support suppliers in development & passing samples per global standards
- Manage tool/die development, contracts, and log sheets
- Improve supplier quality and delivery
- Achieve year-over-year cost reductions from existing sources
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Over 4 years of experience in purchasing or vendor development, including electrical/mechanical/consumables procurement & development
- Delivery OTIF: at least 96%
- Quality PPM: 250 for assigned commodities
- Cost reduction: 3% reduction in spend for assigned commodities
- Adherence to QMS and contract management: 100%
- Support PR to PO process for production
- Follow-up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery
- Experience in direct/indirect purchasing in manufacturing, preferably in switchgear industry
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics Management, or engineering with Supply Chain certification
- Excellent negotiation, persuasive skills, and technical knowledge in electrical & mechanical materials
- Experience in vendor development and global supplier management
- Self-motivated with initiative-taking ability
- Excellent communication skills
- Data-driven and logical thinking
- High integrity
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft AX
- Experience in Middle East market is advantageous
