Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Professional in the Asia Market to join the Hydrogen Department Commercial team. The Hydrogen Department focuses on the development of blue and green hydrogen and ammonia supply opportunities to assist our customers in the Kingdom and outside the Kingdom with their decarbonization efforts.

Primary Role

Your primary role will involve the implementation and execution of strategies for the commercialization of Low Carbon Ammonia and Hydrogen into various Asian markets. The candidate will negotiate sale and purchase agreements and assist in screening, analyzing, planning, and developing new business opportunities while supporting existing ones.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support and lead the commercial contract negotiations, including Term Sheets (TS), Heads of Agreements (HOAs), and Supply Purchase Agreements (SPAs), with existing and potential customers on low carbon ammonia offtake.
  2. Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, regulatory landscapes, and competitive dynamics in Asia.
  3. Manage existing customer accounts and identify and develop new business relationships.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams (law, economics, treasury, market intelligence, shipping) to align business development activities with targeted objectives.
  5. Participate in hydrogen market auctions and tenders in Asia.
  6. Organize and participate in industry networking events and engagement sessions for business development.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Economics. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  2. At least 15 years of professional experience in a commercial role, with a proven track record of long-term deals in LNG or Ammonia, preferably in Asian markets.
  3. Experience and knowledge of the LNG industry and/or Ammonia, including marketing, origination, operations, delivery planning, and shipping.
  4. Proven success in negotiating long-term commercial contracts (TS, HOA, SPA) with a focus on Asia-Pacific.
  5. Understanding of the Asian electricity power markets; experience with power producers is an advantage.
  6. Ability to manage cross-cultural relationships internally and externally, with experience in Asian and Middle Eastern cultures.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively in a multinational team.
  8. Willingness and ability to travel.
  9. Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Asian languages is helpful.
