Job Description for Specialist Engineer II ‐ Electrical
Job Purpose
Responsible for technical and procurement activities (expediting, quality control surveillance) related to equipment/material requisition, calculations, and analysis—from technical specifications to on-site delivery—for generic/standard equipment. Also responsible for equipment/material requisitions, calculations, analysis, and engineering deliverables (from technical specifications to on-site delivery) for specific types of skid-mounted, modularized equipment, or similar with special applications.
Requirements & Experiential Learnings
- B. Sc. in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of total experience in oil/gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, or infrastructure industries, including at least 3 years in Oil & Gas.
- Good knowledge of equipment/activity, shop or site experience, and robust engineering fundamentals.
- Knowledge of international codes and standards such as IEEE, ANSI, IEC, NFPA, UL, and familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards, procedures, and specifications, including SA CMS.
- Attention to detail, advanced Excel skills, and fluency in English.
Nice to Have
- Experience in Basic, FEED, and Detail engineering, with understanding of workflows and inter-discipline dependencies.
- Experience with ETAP power system studies, 3D-model-centric projects, and Lean Six Sigma training.

Main Accountabilities
- Ensures timely and high-quality preparation of technical specifications, requisitions, calculation notes, reports, and engineering deliverables in coordination with other disciplines.
- Ensures external parties comply with contractual technical specifications.
- Maintains proper communication with vendors and follows up on orders.
- Adheres to project targets and priorities, including technical robustness, budget, and schedule.
- Proposes alternatives for cost, schedule, and energy savings aligned with project goals.
- Provides timely reports on engineering and requisitioning activities to the Lead Discipline Engineer.
- Meets quality and HSE objectives.
- Collaborates with other discipline engineers and project support functions.
- Supports junior engineers.
- For small requisitions or standard equipment, acts as project manager overseeing technical, contractual, expediting, and inspection activities, with support from procurement.
- Supports departmental initiatives for process optimization and contributes to the development and improvement of procedures, standards, and templates.
- Participates in training sessions, observes HSEQ directives, and performs various roles such as Field Engineer, Factory Inspector, Material Reception Supervisor, or Internal Auditor as needed.
