Job Summary
Vanderlande is the global market leader in baggage handling systems for airports, sorting systems for parcel and postal services, and Warehouse Solutions. Working at our customer site in Jeddah, the Service Technician will perform maintenance duties and respond to reactive calls on our Material Handling System to ensure productivity, equipment availability, health & safety compliance, quality, and team collaboration are maintained according to agreed timelines.
Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities)
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and electrical equipment such as motors, electrical circuits, ATR systems, baggage handling equipment, and conveyor systems using diagrams, manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications with hand tools and testing instruments.
- Practice safe working procedures at all times, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out protocols.
- Prepare and execute service calls, emergency, and corrective maintenance.
- Perform preventive maintenance and follow up on corrective work orders.
- Report service activities and issues.
- Advise on and implement system optimizations, consulting supervisors and proposing improvements to enhance service quality.
- Develop tools and methods to support service activities.
- Un-jam conveyors and troubleshoot system errors.
- Attend to manual encoding stations and load correction zones.
- Complete CMMS service reports, parts usage logs, and warranty records.
- Research and request spare parts as needed.
- Perform inventory counts.
- Work independently on site performing preventive maintenance.
- Identify planning and tooling issues, providing suggestions for improvements.
- Assist other technicians in fault correction.
- Independently resolve standard faults.
- Instruct and guide less experienced technicians.
Your Qualifications- Diploma or higher in Electrical/Electromechanical fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in electro-mechanical or electrical maintenance.
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Preferably 2+ years of material handling experience.
- At least 1 year of CMMS experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Basic understanding of controls systems (PLC, PC).
