Job description

II. POSITION SUMMARY

This position is based at the PD JIGPC Jazan Site, working a 8 x 2-week, rotational assignment.

The incumbent is responsible for the full implementation of the Air Products Standard 25-010540 Scaffolding and all relevant national requirements. The role involves close collaboration with the Site Manager and Site EH&S Manager to support a 'world-class' EH&S program, including a robust Work at Height & Scaffolding Strategy.

The incumbent should possess good knowledge of HSE practices throughout all phases of Construction and Commissioning and be capable of developing strong relationships with the construction team for coaching on the Lifting and Work at Height & Scaffolding standards.

Additionally, the incumbent will support the implementation of Standard 28-4WCE600500 Cranes and Lifting and all related national requirements, working closely with the Site Lifting Superintendent to ensure safe lifting operations.

III. NATURE AND SCOPE

  • Project Location: Jazan IGCC, JIGPC Project Delivery.
IV. Principal Accountabilities
Lifting
  • Ensure the safe execution of all lifting operations, including routine and major lifts.
  • Support lift planning, review, and approval processes, including completion of lift forms.
  • Coach GC’s for rigging installation, inspect lifting equipment, and support competence assessments.
  • Maintain compliance with international, local, and project-specific lifting standards and regulations.
  • Lead incident investigations and promote safety initiatives.
Scaffolding
  • Ensure provision of safe scaffolding and access, including engineering, erection, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Conduct scaffold inspections, manage modifications, and oversee scaffold demolition.
  • Provide training on safe scaffold use, including PPE, fall protection, and emergency procedures.
  • Implement and monitor compliance with Work at Height and Scaffolding regulations.
  • Lead safety promotion activities and participate actively in EH&S leadership.
V. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • International qualifications in lifting (LOLER/OSHA), with experience as a Lifting Supervisor on mega-projects (~8 years).
  • Qualifications acceptable in KSA, with good knowledge of large-site construction and commissioning safety standards.
  • Fluent in English, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote locations.
Scaffolding
  • Qualified in scaffold management and inspection, with ~12 years of experience on international mega-projects.
  • Recognized safety and environmental certifications, with fluency in English.
  • Ability to work in diverse organizational settings and travel as required.
Advantages
  • Experience with industrial gas projects, especially coal gasification/purification.
  • Knowledge of EPC management and possession of an international driving license.
