QUALITY ENGINEER

All candidates should have experience in Switchgear Production Plants.

Position Title: QC & Testing Engineer (MV Switchgear Product)

Reports to: Manager Quality & Testing

Department: Quality & Testing

Grade: Engineer

Unit: META Switchgear

2. JOB PURPOSE:

Testing & inspection of Medium Voltage SRMU, OH LBS & AR.

3. JOB DIMENSIONS:

Number of Staff Supervised: N/A

Total: N/A

4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings and schemes for electrical SRMU, single line diagrams.
  • Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for MV panels up to 36KV.
  • Knowledge of protection relay setting and testing.
  • Knowledge of RTU configuration and testing.
  • Ensure all work is carried out as per SDMS standards.
  • Preparation of quality-related documents as per client requirements, such as Quality Control Plan, ITP, Method Statement, and related work instructions, including liaising with the client for approvals.
  • Prepare method statements and ITPs in coordination with the project engineer. Interact regularly with engineers and supervisors to ensure timely project completion.
  • Understand onsite product issues and troubleshooting; prepare root cause analysis.

6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Engineering Degree.
  • Minimum Experience: 5-8 years.
  • Generic Skills: Precision, Common Sense, Analysis Skills, Decision Making, General knowledge about Purchase activities.
7. COMPETENCIES:
  • Computer skills, especially MS Excel and Word.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
  • Experience with ERP and SAP is an advantage.
