Plan Haiti is an international community development NGO focused on children, operating in Haiti for over 50 years. We believe in every child's potential, often hindered by social issues, with girls being most impacted. We work for a fairer world in over 80 countries, tackling the root causes of difficulties faced by girls and vulnerable children. We advocate for children’s rights from birth to adulthood, helping them prepare for crises and influence policies at all levels. We are committed to equality and social justice.

Job Objective: Ensure transportation of staff, materials, and equipment across all offices and maintain vehicles in good condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle maintenance: conduct pre-trip check-ups, ensure cleanliness, report issues, and maintain documents.
  • Transport activities: ensure safe transportation of passengers and goods, assist with administrative tasks like deliveries and documentation, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Participate in team meetings, assist with coordination, and report safety incidents.
  • Adhere to safety and security protocols, and maintain communication devices.

Problem Solving and Communication: Work under supervision, take initiative for problem resolution, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviors:

  • Secondary education, valid driving license, knowledge of traffic regulations, basic mechanical knowledge an advantage.
  • Skills: prioritization, courtesy, teamwork, troubleshooting.
  • Behaviors: good interpersonal relations, accuracy, flexibility, cautious driving, courteous manners.

Other Requirements: Empathy for children's rights and gender issues, social sensitivity, willingness to travel within the country.

Physical Environment: 80% driving, 20% office/community work.

Interaction with Children: Moderate; all staff must understand child protection policies.
