Job description

The Draftsman is responsible for preparing, reviewing, modifying, and updating technical drawings and documentation in alignment with the project scope, design standards, and client specifications. The role requires collaboration with the Design and Technical Managers to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements across all design phases.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed architectural and engineering drawings using AutoCAD and relevant software tools (2D/3D).
• Assist in developing and translating conceptual designs into technical layouts.
• Update drawings based on client comments, design coordination meetings, and site conditions.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, international standards, and quality guidelines.
• Develop strategic plans for drafting activities in coordination with the senior project team to meet deadlines and cost targets.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to incorporate additional design elements required for compliance and site execution.
• Perform revisions and coordinate changes with relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in technical and coordination meetings with internal teams and external parties.
• Conduct site visits to ensure execution drawings are being followed by the construction team.
• Prepare architectural shop drawings, sections, elevations, and detail drawings for site implementation.
• Ensure alignment with contractual obligations and resolve client/project issues as needed.
• Support the QS team with quantity take-offs and drawing-based measurements.
• Manage and organize technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness before submission.
• Present drawing packages in a professional and timely manner.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to other drafting staff as required.
• Conduct auto-check and verification of drawings to ensure error-free output.
• Represent the company positively in client and subcontractor meetings when necessary.
• Follow project goals, company procedures, and documentation standards.
• Support value engineering and practical on-site solutions through clear, constructible drawings.
• Deliver consistent quality across all project phases and drawing types.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in drafting roles within construction or engineering sectors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory; experience in BIM, Revit, and rendering software is an advantage.
• Solid knowledge of technical standards, codes, and detailing practices.
• Understanding of site processes and coordination of drawings with construction needs.
• Fluent in English & Arabic; strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with large-scale, fit-out, or stadium projects is preferred.
• Experience working in the GCC region is a plus.
