Job description

Reporting to: EVP Finance & Business Services

Job Purpose: As the Director of Procurement, you will lead the procurement function for the Esports World Cup Foundation. This role involves building processes and structures in a dynamic environment, overseeing strategic planning, and managing purchasing activities to ensure timely acquisition of goods and services at optimal value. You will collaborate cross-functionally to align procurement with business strategies and act as a business partner to enable other teams to deliver world-class events and initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end festival planning, execution, and onsite operations, including concerts, venues, interactive zones, and ceremonies.
  • Manage master festival planning and timelines across multiple functions, including operations, creative, production, and partner coordination.
  • Oversee partnerships with international and local IPs, integrating owned and third-party properties into the festival experience.
  • Handle all government relations regarding event approvals, permits, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Develop and manage strategies for integrated influencer activations aligned with the festival’s creative vision.
  • Curate innovative tech and gaming experiences, ensuring interactivity, accessibility, and impact.
  • Facilitate amateur esports tournaments to promote community participation, ensuring smooth operations and high standards.
  • Lead creation of key zones, including fan zones, sponsor activations, and VIP lounges with immersive programming.
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere to enhance the fan experience.
  • Develop new content formats and festival concepts to position EWC as a global entertainment and gaming leader.
  • Oversee budgeting, governance, operational tracking, and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Manage the festival team and collaborate with departments and external vendors for large-scale execution.
  • Revise and innovate the festival blueprint annually, incorporating benchmarking and global festival research.
  • Define and monitor KPIs to measure success and inform continuous improvement.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years in supply chain, procurement, or similar roles.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Deep understanding of procurement principles, sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of procurement laws, regulations, and ethical standards relevant to the foundation.
  • Experience in establishing procurement functions, policies, and systems in startup or fast-paced environments.
  • Capability to develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with budgets and timelines.
  • Proficiency in managing procurement projects, vendor selection, and contract delivery.
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure optimal value.
  • Experience in multinational or large organizations is advantageous.
  • Prior work experience in KSA and understanding of local market and regulations.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic.
