Job description

Reporting to: EVP Finance & Business Services

Job Purpose: As the Director of Procurement your primary mission is leading the procurement function within the foundation. You will oversee the strategic planning, implementation, and management of all purchasing activities to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services at the best value. Collaborates cross-functionally to align procurement objectives with the overall business strategy and drive continuous improvement in the procurement process.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Define a comprehensive procurement strategy with clear milestones, deadlines, and budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely acquisition of goods and services.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and update of procurement policies and procedures, including purchase orders, delivery tracking, and quality control (encompassing warehouse management).
  • Identify and analyze the Foundation’s procurement needs. Partner with internal stakeholders to determine the most efficient and cost-effective sourcing strategies.
  • Oversee all aspects of vendor management, including registration, evaluation, relationship building, and fostering long-term partnerships with key suppliers.
  • Lead market research and development activities focused on identifying and sourcing local content to support the foundation’s goals.
  • Oversee financial control activities related to procurement, including spend management reporting and budget adherence.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Monitor and report on procurement metrics, such as cost savings, supplier performance, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., finance, budgeting, legal) to align procurement activities with the Foundation’s overall business objectives.
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain or equivalent. Master's degree is preferred.

8+ years supply chain, procurement or similar role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Deep understanding of procurement principles, sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
  • Understanding of procurement laws, regulations, and ethical standards applicable to the foundation.
  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with budgets and timelines.
  • Ability to manage procurement projects, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and delivery tracking.
  • Skilled negotiator to secure the best value for the foundation in contracts with vendors.
  • Prior experience of working in KSA.
  • Strong understanding of the local market and regulations.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic.
