Job description

ApplyBoard is seeking a seasoned Director of Sales responsible for leading the Sales Managers and team, expanding existing markets, and entering new markets through strategic collaboration. The role involves working closely with sales, sales operations, and marketing to ensure alignment across functions. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, experienced in defining and managing similar initiatives, and capable of quickly understanding industry specifics.

The Director of Sales will report to the Sr. Director and indirectly to the CRO. Responsibilities include leading sales efforts, collaborating with global leadership, and developing high-impact teams and solutions in a dynamic environment. The candidate should have hands-on experience with sales methodologies, lifecycle, tools, processes, and enhancing salesperson effectiveness. Industry experience is not mandatory but preferred, along with the ability to learn quickly about the industry.

Note: This is a remote position open to candidates in Africa or the MENA Region.

What you'll be doing every day:
  1. Creating and deploying training, sales messaging, processes, and practices to support sales and partnership teams.
  2. Developing sales vision, principles, strategy, and goals aligned with ApplyBoard’s objectives.
  3. Supporting product launches by enabling teams to understand and sell ApplyBoard’s solutions.
  4. Attracting, developing, coaching, and retaining a world-class sales team with effective learning experiences and tools.
  5. Managing foundational and ongoing sales training programs, including content creation and delivery.
  6. Supporting sales and partnership processes at all stages.
  7. Assisting frontline managers and leadership in management disciplines and coaching programs.
  8. Partnering with global teams to develop leadership and management practices and establish a coaching culture.
  9. Managing sales projects and activities.
  10. Enabling sales team to train external end-users through content and messaging.
  11. Tracking and analyzing sales training and content usage.
What you bring to the table:
  1. Experience as a Senior Leader or Director of Sales in high-growth companies, preferably in tech or education sectors.
  2. 7+ years in sales learning leadership with increasing responsibilities in hyper-growth environments.
  3. Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating performance metrics and learning effectiveness.
  4. Knowledge of sales tools, instructional design, and learning management systems (e.g., Salesforce, Workday Learning, Zunos, Articulate).
  5. Strong relationship management skills with the ability to influence and partner effectively.
